The gameplay loop is frustrating - they don't give you a ton of ammo and I'm constantly having to worry about whether I need to pull off a glory kill or chainsaw or flame an enemy. I literally turned on my console and contemplated whether I felt like jumping into the game, and I ended up watching Tiger King on Netflix instead lol. I hate to say it, but DOOM Eternal on the other hand is a chore. I put in 25 hours into a game that can be beaten in 12-15, and it didn't feel that long. I found like 99% of the secrets, maxed out all the runes and upgrades, and didn't have any issues playing levels multiple times. and now I wonder if they delayed it because the systems they added just bogged down the game and they had to salvage it. Same - I was so bummed when this game was delayed last year. Super disappointed, this was the game I was looking forward to the most this year. I am really surprised at how forgiving the press is being about these things because they really bring the game down a lot.
Too many interruptions to the flow of the game, too many mechanics and why did they think that first person platforming was a good idea? They don't require a lot of horsepower so you might want to check them out.
I've been playing some Downwell, FTL and Into the Breach on Game Pass PC on my Surface Pro 3. On my Xbox I'll throw on Lonely Mountains: Downhill if I just want a chill experience that only takes a few minutes.įor PC, it's the smaller indie games that are a nice surprise. Ace Combat 7 also just dropped on it, if you want some fun arcadey aerial dog fighting. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a really good game.
it looks and feels great, but I feel like it gets bogged down with too many upgrade systems, and there's also a few frustrating platforming sections that I could do without.īecause my kids are home (2 and 4 year olds) I don't really get to play much until they're asleep, but there are lots of good games on Game Pass. I'm playing Doom Eternal, and it's good, but I'm not getting the same feeling from it as I got from Doom 2016.
I play on the Xbox X mostly but do have a PS4 in the upstairs living room.
Anyone playing Doom Eternal? Considering that one but I hate paying full price and for some reason I missed the pre order (if there was one). Not one to play games that require 40+ hours to get through. Meanwhile the Barbarians in the north hold meetings to decide their allegiances, and the tribes of the Pontos Badlands remain quiet… perhaps too quiet. So like some of us I am home (working) but am looking for some game recommendations to play during down times. While his armies cannot advance farther yet, they are by no means defeated and continue to build in strength until they can burst through the defenses set against them. Through heroic sacrifice and the bravery of many fallen soldiers, the advance of Padrino’s forces was halted, both by the Dwarves at Hurricane’s End and by the forces of the city of Lacto Polis at the edge of the Twilight Forest. Rallying their warlike forces, and bringing the feral Centaurs and other fell beasts into an unholy alliance, Padrino’s armies once again laid waste to the civilized peoples. Sensing the Sea People’s attention was diverted with happenings in their lands he burst forth from his prison and rejoined his allies the Orcs. Padrino bid his time carefully showing no signs of his plans, until he saw the perfect opportunity to escape. At the very moment when Padrino was about to be destroyed, Almark the God of Nature entrapped Padrino in the Black Gate, placing him under the watchful eyes of the Sea People.Īeons passed, and the Gods gradually grew more distant from mortal lands. Battles raged and many lives were lost before the God of Gods was able to lure Padrino into a trap, defeating him and devastating his allies. Marshaling his forces of Demons and Orcs, Padrino commanded them to march upon the Humans, Elves, and Dwarves in an attempt to wipe them out. In the beginning, the Dark Lord Padrino waged war against the God of Gods.
